(Backup) (Backup) Rolling Creek to Frisco

7/20-  Welcome Madeline Mabe Bongiovanni!  My daughter Hannah and her husband Frank had their second child today.  I am a proud G-Pa!  Wishing I were home to. Hug everyone and to hold Madeline.

Resting and prepping so RM and I can return to the trail tomorrow.
7/21-  Rolling Creek to Long Gulch.  We need to get to Kenosha Pass in 2 days (32 miles) so our goal is to hike 16.8 miles to Long Gulch today. It will be a 2000 ft gain in elevation. It is a beautiful day and we feel strong as we head to the mountains. Met new friends Annabelle and Dave today. Who are from England.

7/22-  Long Gulch to Kenosha Pass
Another long day but beers and.burgers wait for us at Kenosha Pass. We will be meeting Sue and the Boys of Summer. No real elevation gain today so we moved with a purposeful pace.

Kenosha Pass and party time!  We invited Annabelle and Dave to join us.

7/23- Kenosha Pass to just below Georgia's Pass.  While Fred and Mike are in good shape we need to take our time so the elevation doesn't spoil their walk. Our goal is to hike a little over 9 miles to just below Georgia's Pass and spend the night.  While at lunch by the Swan River, the nastiest hail storm I have ever seen swallowed us whole.

We slogged our way 3 miles to the campsite.

7/24-  Over the Top
Mighty cold camping last night. Made our way over Georgia's Pass to find the sun and dry out.

We covered 10 miles and camped at the North Fork of the Swan River. where we ran into our trail friend Frank.  We are now on both the CT and Continental Divide Trail.

7/25-  Heading to Frisco
We planned to hike 4 miles short of Frisco and camp for the night but the draw of burgers and. beers won out.

14 miles to Pat's condo, a soft bed and dinner out

A couple days of rest, a goodbye to the BOS, Sue and H and we are back on the trail. We have covered 104 miles. 381 to go!
